Carl is a Director in charge of Deloitte & Touche Capital Markets risk advisory consulting practice for the Insurance Industry. He also co-leads Deloitte’s Insurance ERM Practice in the United States. Carl serves some of the world’s largest Insurance Companies. He has substantial experience consulting in a variety of areas involving risk management around risk and capital modeling, risk framework, governance, technology and management process for market, credit, underwriting, reserve and operational risks.
Carl has over 23 years of experience providing risk management services to a wide range of global companies. These services have been delivered to assist companies with risk and capital modeling, risk frameworks, governance and management processes. Before joining Deloitte & Touche, Carl served as a Managing Director for Willis Group Ltd, responsible for its Enterprise Risk Management and Structured Risk Financing practices.
During his tenure at Willis, a client’s ERM program received recognition as a Harvard Business School case study, part of the book Making Enterprise Risk Pay Off and received the Enterprise Risk Management of the Year award by International Risk Management magazine. Prior to Willis, Carl served in a variety of capacities at the Liberty Mutual Group, including responsibility for Liberty’s Bermuda Operations.
Carl holds a B.A. in Economics form The University of Washington and an M.B.A. in Finance and Investments/International Business from George Washington University (Honors)
