Mike McLaughlin is a principal with Deloitte Consulting LLP. He serves as leader of the U.S. life actuarial practice and coordinates the firm’s actuarial and insurance solutions (AIS) practice globally. The AIS practice encompasses life and property/casualty actuaries, risk managers and AQS (Actuarial Quantitative Solutions) analysts. Mike McLaughlin has over 20 years of consulting experience prior to joining Deloitte.

The life actuarial practice provides financial reporting, actuarial modeling, merger & acquisition, product development and enterprise risk management services mainly to Deloitte’s insurance industry clients. Mike joined Deloitte from AXA Financial in New York, where he served as Executive Vice President & Chief Actuary. In his role at AXA he oversaw numerous projects including new term life insurance products, variable annuity products for an international affiliate, surplus strengthening for a subsidiary, and revised compensation for a group annuity product.

Mike is a Fellow, Society of Actuaries, a Fellow, Institute of Actuaries, and member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He is the author of papers published by the Society of Actuaries, several articles and a frequent speaker at professional and industry meetings. Mike currently serves on the Board of Governors of the Society of Actuaries.
